Applications are invited to apply for the Japan Study Support Scholarship 2025 in Japan. All International students are welcome to apply for scholarships in Japan. Students those who want to pursue their undergraduate degree, master’s degree, or PhD degree abroad on a funded scholarship are welcome to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the Japan Study Support Scholarship Program 2025, you must fulfill these eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant has been verified to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Japanese university beginning in the spring (April/May) or fall (September-November) of 2024. (Students enrolled in short-term and Japanese language programs are not eligible.)
  • Applicants possess a registered MY PAGE with JAPAN STUDY SUPPORT, an informational website for overseas students that is jointly operated by Benesse Corporation and the Asian Students Cultural Association.
  • Applicants have been notified by the aforementioned university using the “JPSS Scout function” before being accepted.
  • Applicants are capable of conducting interviews in both English and Japanese.
  • Applicants must not possess a bank account in Japan (in the applicant’s name) where scholarship funds can be deposited. We won’t accept online banking.
  • An applicant must not be a citizen of Japan to be eligible.
