Applications are invited to apply for the Kochi University Special Scholarship 2026 in Japan. All International applicants can apply for these fully funded scholarship programs in Japan. Students who want to continue their PhD Degree programs abroad are welcome to apply for this fully funded scholarship. All expenses are covered by this scholarship program, and there is no application fee.


International students can apply for a fully funded scholarship at Kochi University of Technology in Japan through the KUT Japan Special Scholarship Program 2026. The Kochi University Special Scholarship Program (SSP) invites researchers from all over the world with the goal of fostering the growth of advanced research at the university. With a great interest in conducting research, the KUT Special Scholarship Program is a three-year PhD scholarship. At Kochi University, participants can start their studies in either April or October.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the Kochi University Special Scholarship 2026 in Japan (Fully Funded) for International students, you must: 
  • All nationals are eligible to apply for the scholarship in Japan.
  • In order to host the applicants, the supervisor must consent. Permission from the supervisor is necessary.
  • A comparable master’s degree is required of applicants or is anticipated.
  • Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger when enrolled.
  • Students must have a good academic standing from respectable colleges.
  • International students must have relevant research goals, expertise, and abilities.
  • Candidates must have a high level of fluency in English.
  • Three–Year Enrollment: The KUT PhD program requires a minimum of three years of study.
  • Accumulate more than ten doctoral course credits.
  • Finish the final public defense and pass the preparatory exam at least a year prior to the final defense.
  • Research Publication: At least one article published by the final defense in a prestigious, peer-reviewed publication; under certain circumstances, noteworthy research accomplishments may be used in its place.

How to Apply for Kochi University Special Scholarship? 

  • Choose a study project from the SSP study Project List before submitting an application for the KUT Special Scholarship Program.
  • After that, send a completed Pre-Application Request via email to the appropriate project manager to get their approval to apply.
  • You should get all the required application materials ready as soon as you are approved.
  • Lastly, make sure to submit the entire application.
