Applications are invited to apply for the United Nations SDG Action Awards 2025 in Italy. All International applicants can apply for these awards in Italy. The goal is to showcase tomorrow’s heroes and inspire people to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


The United Nations SDG Action Awards 2025 are a flagship event of the United Nations SDG Action Campaign, recognizing, selecting, and celebrating the initiatives of young leaders who are advancing, demonstrating creativity, and working hard to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The selected participants are invited to the UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony in Italy on October 29, 2025. The UN SDG Action Campaign will cover the cost of their trip and accommodations.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) have generously funded the Heroes of Tomorrow:  

UN SDG Action Awards program. Finalists are invited to the Heroes of Tomorrow: UN SDG Action Awards Ceremony, which will reveal and celebrate the winners through music, art, and inspirational words from leaders from all backgrounds and areas of the world.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the United Nations SDG Action Awards 2025 in Italy (fully funded), you must fulfill these eligibility criteria: 
  • Initiatives or campaigns must be in line with the 2025 award categories and demonstrate measurable outcomes within the previous three years.
  • Eligible initiatives are those that are still in the conceptualization or planning stages.
  • Honorable mentions will only be awarded to projects led by national governments or UN organizations.
  • Applications are not accepted from past UN SDG Action Award finalists or winners.


How to Apply for United Nations SDG Action Awards?

  • Please fill out the entire application or (self-) nomination form if you want to propose a Changemaker or apply for the Creativity or Resilience categories.
  • Before submitting, you have the option to save and make changes.
