  • Composition at the University Fee at the correct rate: A Single Student Maintenance Allowance (£17,500 for 12 months at the 2021-22 rate; pro rata for courses shorter than 12 months) – for Ph.D. scholars, the award is for up to 4 years.
  • One Economy Round-Trip Airfare Ticket at the start and end of the Course.
  • Inbound Visa Fees and the Immigration Health Surcharge
  • Also, academic Advancement Funding: Attending conferences and courses can cost anywhere between £500 and £2,000, depending on the length of your course.
  • Family Allowance: Up to £10,120 for a first child and £4,320 for a second child (2020-21 rate). A partner receives no funding.
  • Fieldwork: You may apply to keep your normal maintenance allowance while on Ph.D. fieldwork (the Trust does not fund other fieldwork costs as these should be funded by the University Composition Fee).
  • Funding for Maternity/Paternity Leave: If you need it, you can apply to pause your studies for up to 6 months while still receiving your maintenance allowance.
  • Hardship funding is available for unforeseen difficulties.
